Christ’s Cocoon, a Columbus area 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, helps the homeless by providing sleeping bags and other personal care items, with the warmth of Christ's embrace.
Their mission is to provide hope and encouragement to the homeless by demonstrating the warmth of Christ's love through gifts of sleeping bags and other items for their comfort. These 'cocoons' are distributed to those living off the land through various organizations including The Columbus Dream Center, Huckleberry House and Star House.
Did you know the U.S. has 194,500 unsheltered people on any given night with an estimated total of over 550,000 homeless people. A point-in-time count in January 2021 for Columbus, Ohio found 1,201 people in homeless shelters. Mental health problems are up to eight times more common in the homeless population.
You Can Make a Difference. Donations enable them to purchase new sleeping bags for the homeless. Please consider supporting Christ’s Cocoons: www.christs-cocoons.org.
Your donation of a new or gently used sleeping bag or tent will provide a safe, warm place for the homeless of Central Ohio. They are happy to accept any gently used 'cocoons' so long as they are warm, clean and the zipper works.
Other ways to support this nonprofit’s mission include listing Christ’s Cocoons as a charity of choice with Amazon Smiles, Cheerful, and Kroger’s Community Rewards giving programs. Donations can also be purchased through Amazon Smile.
Special thanks to Paul Workmaster, President and Founder, for his dedication and compassionate leadership.
